Teen Author Visits Greeley
High Plains Library District is pleased to welcome teen author Matt de la Pena, to Weld County. Students will have the opportunity to meet Matt as he shares the story behind his journey from a reluctant reader in his youth, to successful author of several critically acclaimed novels for teens. He will be at The Jesus Rodarte Center (920 A Street, Greeley) on March 8 from 4-5:30 pm, to visit with teens. He is the author of I Will Save You, We Were Here, Mexican WhiteBoy among others. Matt de la Peña's debut novel, Ball Don't Lie, was published by Delacorte in 2005. The book was made into a major motion picture (to be released in the fall of 2011) starring Ludacris, Nick Cannon, Emelie de Ravin, Grayson Boucher, and Rosanna Arquette (Night and Day Pictures). The book was named as an ALA-YALSA Best Book for Young Adults and an ALA-YALSA Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers.
